SUMMER INTERNSHIP

SUMMER INTERNSHIP

The NorthRock Summer Internship program prepares the next generation for more than just a career path. Our mission is to equip and develop young leaders who will passionately lead people within their God-given spheres of influence through a mixture of classroom learning, leadership development, hands-on ministry experience and a team environment. In addition, interns will develop meaningful relationships and have fun!

Want to make your summer count? This is your chance to level up as a leader, grow in your faith, and serve in a way that makes a difference. You’ll get hands-on ministry experience, learn from pastors and leaders, and—of course—have a ton of fun!

If you’re ready to do something that matters this summer, this is for you! Spots are limited, so apply today!

SUMMER INTERNSHIP FAQS

Summer Interns get to spend the summer exploring what what it looks like to serve and make a difference in the local church. You’ll be immersed in the innovative culture of NorthRock Church while learning directly from staff members on a variety of topics that will help stretch, grow, and equip you to live a life of influence. There’s a combination of classroom learning, team building, and hands-on ministry experience. And of course, we have a lot of fun all summer long!

We’re looking for passionate, driven student leaders who believe they’re called by God to lead within the local church. Ideally, we’re looking for students who:

  • Are a follower of Jesus
  • Completed 8th - 12th grade
  • Exhibit natural leadership abilities
  • Are self-motivated and have a high degree of ownership
  • Demonstrate an attitude of humility and a willingness to learn
  • Express a desire to grow in ministry and leadership

Our Summer Internship meets at the Stone Oak Campus from June 10 - July 31, 2025.

Days/Times:
  • Tuesdays (7am-3pm)
  • Wednesdays/Thursdays (9am-3pm)
  • Weekend services at designated campus

Orientation: June 7th @ 7:00pm, Stone Oak Campus
**Must attend Student Camp (July 21-24). Interns will be given the opportunity to stay through Middle School Camp (July 24-27) as junior leaders.
The summer internship is a combination of group teaching and hands-on learning. Each intern will be assigned to a particular department where they will gain practical ministry experience while moving the mission and vision of NorthRock forward.

A few expectations include:

  • Complete projects in a timely and accurate manner
  • Attend NorthRock’s Student Summer Camp
  • Commit to faithfully attend each day of the internship and submit vacation dates ahead of time.
  • Attend one service and serve the remaining

The summer internship does not have a specific program fee, but will include some activities that will require spending money or admission. We believe that approximately $75 will be sufficient for the entire summer. This does not need to be paid to NorthRock. Instead, interns will be responsible for their own costs during planned activities. In addition, all interns will be required to attend Student Camp during one week of the internship. Interns will get a special camp rate.

All you will need this summer is access to a consistent ride to NorthRock Church (Stone Oak campus during the week/assigned weekend campus). Students are welcome to bring a laptop or tablet, if desired. Everything else will be provided.

We encourage you to take time to think and pray through if entering this internship is the right fit for you. Here's what we suggest:
  • Talk it over with your parents and family. This is an 8-week commitment, so ask others for wise counsel as you make this decision.
  • Pray. If you sense a leadership calling on your life, ask God if this is your right next step.
  • Complete the application on our Student webpage.

All applications are due by June 3, 2025.

After reviewing all submissions, we will set up short interviews with select students. Interviews will take place during and after the application period.

Selections will be made and acceptance notifications will be sent starting June 1.

Mandatory orientation, for the intern and parent, is Saturday, June 7 from 7-8PM in the Commons at Stone Oak. Internship begins on Tuesday, June 10 at 9:00AM (Tuesday Morning Prayer will not be required on the first day).
