In 2009, God called Pastors Jonathan and Alicia to San Antonio, Texas with a vision to plant NorthRock Church and a heart for the people of this city. Along with their sons, Mason and Britton, God has helped the Moore family lead a strong and growing community of faith, fueled by one goal: to see lives [re]defined by being filled with life in Christ.

4 Things We Do

We exist to CONNECT people to Jesus and NorthRock: Our first purpose as a church is to help the spiritually disconnected, connect with Jesus.

“Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But who can ask Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard of Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them?” Rom. 10:13-14.
We exist to GROW in our faith together: Discipleship growth is helping believers attain spiritual maturity.

“(God has given)…some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of ministry, so that the Body of Christ may be built up until we all…become mature…like Christ.” Ephesians 4:11-13.

“(They met) day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house.” Acts 5:42
We exist to DISCOVER our design: Discover what God has created you to be and do. Design reveals destiny.

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10
We exist to LIVE out our purpose: Step into your purpose for God’s Kingdom. This is what “life [re]defined” looks like. Investing in others above yourself.

“He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.” Colossians 1:28-29

WHAT WE BELIEVE

At NorthRock Church, we are rooted in eternal truths, the teachings of the Bible. We are guided by Biblical foundational beliefs and shaping values.

We believe in the one ever-living, eternal God: infinite in power, holy in nature; and possessing absolute, indivisible deity. This eternal God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

We believe The Bible is the inspired Word of God, a divine revelation from God to man. We accept the Scriptures as the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life, was crucified on Calvary for our sins, and physically rose from the grave. Now, He has been exalted to the throne of God where He is the only mediator between God and man. We believe that through His death and life we have personal salvation and power for victorious living.

We believe that all men have sinned and stand in need of redemption, which is obtained through the new birth by faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Those repenting of sin and being born again become Children of God.

We believe that following your decision of faith in The Lord Jesus Christ, new believers are commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in water as public evidence of that faith. Water baptism is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer’s death to their own sin, the burial of that old life, and the resurrection to a new life in Christ Jesus. Baptism is a significant moment in our journey from a life of sin to a life with Jesus.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is active in the world today and that the baptism of the Holy Spirit, with His accompanying gifts, is the privilege of all believers. “The promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” Acts 2:39

We believe The Church has been called out of the world to be a group of people who follow Jesus Christ. These Christ-followers, through the power of the Holy Spirit, will affect genuine spiritual change in their communities. As the body of Christ on earth, the church offers hope to humanity. The church is one group of people made up of many members, diverse in their gifts and callings of the Holy Spirit.
